High Performance Computing (HPC)
While the need and usefulness of High performance Supercomputing in Business as well as Scientific & Engineering Applications is unquestioned and is growing rapidly, it is not economically viable to have so many facilities. C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) has thus established "National PARAM Supercomputing Facility" to provide Supercomputing facility to various industries and other institutions that need such a facility to process their diverse applications.
Our Supercomputing software environment cosnsists of:
- Parallel processing libraries based on MPI standard with debuggers
- Parallel processing compilers for C, C++, Fortran languages with support to MPI standards
- Highly optimized Mathematical Libraries suitable to the above system
- System Management and Administration environment
- Job scheduling and sequencing software for PARAM Upgradeable system
- LINUX based file system with volume management and backup software
- Networking and Security software’s for the facility
We have the following scientific applications for HPC facility:

- Finite Element Analysis
- Seismology
- Materials Science
- Climatology
- Computational Chemistry
- Computational Fluid Dynamics
We are working strongly on collaboration with different scientific organizations to identify priority areas for continuous research.
